Dr. Ed Bauman has been at the forefront of the holistic health and nutrition renaissance for the past 40 years. He is both the founder of Bauman College: Holistic Nutrition and Culinary Arts and the National Association of Nutrition Professionals (NANP). After studying traditional health and nutrition systems for more than 30 years, Dr. Bauman created the Eating for Health approach, which forms the basis of Bauman College professional and community programs.
As senior member of NANP, Dr. Bauman has articulated the scope of practice and standard of care for holistic nutrition professionals, tirelessly advocating for organic food, non-biased whole food nutrition and culinary education, banning GMO's and protecting the right to practice evidence-based, clinical nutrition in California, Colorado and nationally.
For the past 25 years, he has lead spring and summer Vitality Juice Fasting and Rejuvenation programs, held in at the elegant Mayacamas Ranch in Calistoga, CA.
Dr. Bauman is a delightful speaker, mentor and magical chef. In 1976, he coined the phrase Holistic (with an H) which he articulated in his ground breaking Holistic Health Handbook and put into practice at the Berkeley Holistic Health Center, one of the first successful integrative health and medicine clinics in the United States.Dr. Bauman's Nutrition Essentials for Everyone and Affordable Nutrition programs are prototypes for emerging third party funded national wellness programs that will bring affordable nutrition to the growing demographic of low income, under nourished, chronically ill, children and adults. He is the author the highly acclaimed Flavors of Health Cookbook with Chef Lizette Marx and the Whole Food Guide for Breast Cancer Survivors with Dr. Helayne Waldman.
Dr. Bauman is a past president and current vice president of the board of the Sonoma West Medical Center Foundation, in Sebastopol, California where he is developing an Integrative Health Institute at the hospital to deliver organic meals to patients and staff, plus holistic nutrition services to patients to enhance their recovery from chronic and life-threatening illnesses.
